The IRS has since replaced its legacy FIRE system with the Information Returns Intake System (IRIS), and IRIS changed the requirements for anyone filing through software. Every filer must now register for their own Transmitter Control Code (TCC), complete ID.me identity verification, and submit returns formatted to the IRIS specification. Those steps add real setup time and complexity, and they fall on the end user rather than on the software.
Given those IRIS requirements, we made the decision to discontinue our self-serve software and concentrate on our 1099 outsourcing full-service filing option. You provide your data in a simple spreadsheet, and our U.S.-based team handles the TCC, the formatting, the recipient copies, and direct transmission to the IRS on your behalf. You get the same accurate, on-time filing without the IRIS setup burden.
